Doing something out of the norm. How did others react?

Prompt: A time I did something out of the norm was starting to wear my hair in different hairstyles. Once I started doing this many of my friends and family were very surprised since I always had my hair down and refused to put it up.  Summary: Today in class we read "The Myth of the Latin Women" that talks about stereotypes for Latin women and while reading we did a worksheet based on it.  Reflection: I learned more about stereotypes and how harmful they are. It reminded me of stereotypes I have witnessed or happened to me. I will use this knowledge in the future to combat them and even challenge it as well.

What part of your culture, family, or identity do you feel "travels" with you everywhere you go

Prompt: A part of my culture that I feel like travels with me would be my culture's food. Everywhere I go that has food, I subconsciously look for food from my culture or that is at least a little similar.  Summary: Today in class we worked in Common Lit and completed three assignments.  Reflection: Today in class I learned about social interactions and how phones can contribute to a decline in building healthy relationships with others. Learning this can help me build strong relationships with others and know not to use my phone so much.

Describe something you will never fully understand

Prompt: Something I would never fully understand is how vinyls work. I've seen vinyls a thousand times but can never wrap my head around how a full song comes out of a disk with lines once you drop the needle. Every time I see a vinyl I always flip it around and watch it closely to try and understand how sound comes out of it. I've tried asking people how it works but it still never makes sense to me. How vinyl works is something I would never understand.  Summary: Today in class we presented our culture poems and explained it a little.  Reflection: In class today I learned about many different cultures and what's special about each one. Culture is something that has been on earth for years, and it reminds me of how people can be creative and create unique things that last forever. I would use this knowledge in the future whenever I travel to different places.
