Nov. 21, Thanksgiving unforgettable meal

Prompt: An unforgettable thanksgiving meal was when my parents cooked a whole lamb body. I remember walking into the kitchen and seeing a huge platter on the kitchen counter that was wrapped in foil. I was curious about that so I lifted it up and saw a dead lambs face. I remember being so shocked that I jumped back and quickly pulled it back down. My mom began to laugh at me and when it was time to eat I saw the whole lamb and was so surprised.  Today in class we took a little quiz on the novel color purple

Nov.20, Celies world expands in the letters

Prompt: The one time i noticed something funny about someone I see everyday is their haircut. I always saw them in school but never noticed until I was zoning out. I noticed that they had a piece of hair just standing up, seemed like it never went down. When I pointed it out to her, she immediately laughed at the fact that I never noticed until that moment. She then proceeded to show me how the hair doesnt go down and only stays up.  Today in class we read more letters and answered some questions based off of them  I learned to stay curious about everything and how good it is to answer questions. I will use this in the future to help myself become more creative and learn more things.

Nov. 17, Bringing assigned letter to life

Prompt: My assigned letter was letter 16, which is about Celie noticing how Harpo struggles with standing up to his father and inadequacy, all seen through her eyes. I tried bringing this letter to life by choosing quotes and lines I thought really represented this. I also chose the appropriate music to play in the background to match the tone of the quotes. Another thing was choosing the right videos to play that I also thought matched the quotes, making the audience see and imagine how the chapter went down. Throughout the project, the mood I was aiming for was pity and sadness, showing how Celie feels pity for Harpo that he is torn between trying for Sofie and still being in love with her.  Reflection: today in class we presented our Adobe Express Color Purple letter video  I learned that its important to show good emotion and expression through video creating and how it can make it look better. I will use this in future projects to increase the attention of the audie...

Nov. 14 , sharing a rare moment

This morning, my sister and I had both woken up late for school and were rushing out of the house. She was in a bad mood because of this and as we were walking outside to the car she told me to pick up my feet when walking. I decided to try and cheer her up so I took big steps and started walking funny, this thankfully made her laugh. This brought us closer since we were able to laugh about something during a tense moment.  Today in class we continued with our letter video project  I learned that its good to find happy moments or make happy moments out of tense situations. I will use that in the future to make sure everyone around me is never in a bad mood.

Nov.13, An advice that sounded good at first but didn't in the end

Prompt: The time someone gave me advice that sounded right at first was "Fake it until you make it". The first time I heard this advice, I thought it was really good and tried to follow it. However, it didn't go right and I ended up feeling drained half the time, it was about trying to be talkative and confident. It affected my situation by making me feel horrible and causing me to overthink about almost everything I did and say, which affected my self esteem even more. After a while, I learned that I should stop listening to that advice and instead be myself.  Today in class we read more letters from the Color Purple and started our video project  Today I learned that back then woman had to fight to not get killed in their own home. This reminded me to stay and be strong, to always stand up for myself no matter what.

Nov.10 Someone who inspires me to be more confident

Prompt: Someone who inspires me to be stronger would be my sister. Shes known for being very independent and strong. She never backs down when it comes to standing up for what she believes in and protecting. She inspires me to be stronger and to stand up for myself all the time, gaining confidence. I'll always continue to look up to her and see her as my role model  Summary: Today we read more chapters and wrote down questions  Reflection: Something I learned today was how bad times were to be a woman back then. I learned to make a good living and to always provide for me

The Color purple thoughts and emotions first five letters

Prompt: After reading the first five letters of the book, I felt very disturbed but also very sad. I felt disturbed by what was going on with Celie's life at a young age and how the father acted. I also felt very sad that it was probably someones life right now as well, many people could be going through the exact same disturbing things that Celie's was going through. The book was interesting and I kept wondering how the author came up with the title as well.  In class we answered a few questions relating to the book The Color Purple  I learned that people can go through many things and stay strong. I will use this to be the same in the future when things go bad.
